I didn’t hear anything of the sort in this conversation. And what does the cultural heritage of the husband of the sports commentator have anything to do with the discussion? He’s not even on the air, and anti-Semitism wasn’t even a topic of the video. You just outed yourself my dude. Stay classy.

Look up David Dorn if you don’t know about it. BLM and the media are hypocrites for not covering it.

That’s my president right there. My city (Toronto) definitely suffers from racism all the same, but I’m so proud that Masai represents Toronto.

The elephant in the room that no one would dare say in public is that going back to segregation is the answer. This experiment called integration was a complete failure. Both blacks and whites would be better off. I’m black and no you’re not a racist if you’re white and agree with me.

Too many people like Ujiri are whiners ! I am sick and tired of all this race talk. Under the law everybody has the same rights ! There are assholes who are white , black or Chinese ! I respect your opinion lendra2010. I am personally good with living around everybody but these fake social justice rich young white people are sickening !

Looking back on that footage from Oracle, it astounds me that the security officer is the one suing Masai. Masai isn’t the one with veins popping out of his neck, Masai isn’t the one needing to be held back by people. The Sheriff of Alameda County even admitted that Mr. Ujiri HAD displayed his court pass, but that the other officer either didn’t see it, or didn’t care, and tried to block Masai from walking onto the court, anyway. That officer even went on to claim that he had been punched so hard he was concussed (Masai shoved him off after being manhandled), that it knocked the body camera off (uh huh), and that he suffered a serious jaw injury that required him take time off work (sigh LOL). Pretty bold claims to make when they were surrounded by Warriors fans who ALL vouched for Masai, and even provided cell phone footage of the altercation from multiple angles, and yet that ‘roided up meatball still couldn’t admit that he was mistaken, or brush off the fact that he got shoved.
That hair trigger temper, the immediate impulse to escalate in order to provoke an even more violent response, arising out of a minor miscommunication that led to that officer trying to pull a power play on the GM of the newly crowned championship team, that sort of pathetic showy macho attitude that is all too common, needs to be removed from police precincts everywhere.
Masai says that this minor altercation pales in comparison to the violence that other black men have experienced, and that is true. However, look at the context and setting in which he found himself, the level of responsibility and respect he has within the Raptors organization, the support of the fans AND from the home team crowd, and realize, that if this same confrontation had happened just a few yards away in the tunnel leading to the court where fewer people could see, this could have ended differently. Not lethally, but very differently. Because then it’s the word of Masai versus the word of the sheriff and a handful of other people around them. There’s also many reasons to be skeptical of the Alameda department, which is currently under investigation for multiple brutality and sexual misconduct allegations, and they lead the Bay Area in settlement fees being paid out to victims of their abuse.

Protests will spread COVID-19 even more though. This is why I won’t believe the NBA season will resume again until I actually see it. We’re doing the opposite of what we’re supposed to do. Stay home.
