Because the man actually puts effort on defense and doesn’t let his lack of athleticism compared to the offensive player discourage him from making an attempt. If he doesn’t jump he scores almost for sure, if he does the dunk attemot becomes more difficult and he may even stop it.

Cuz he’s supposed to contest everything. Getting dunked on shouldn’t be a surprise in 2023 at any level. Kids are different these days but at least he contested without fouling
