Nah, this is regular NBA off-season workout type stuff. But, sounds like LeBron is gonna make a point of making 2024 Paris a show, so maybe he took it personal. The pro money got too big to assemble another Dream Team so the US just doesn’t work toward assembling a real top talent national team all that much. And unlike the Dream Team era, the NBA is no longer seeking to be an international commodity – it is an international commodity, so – its not applying any pressure to have its talent participate. Combine all of that with how much better the base international talent has gotten and sure shot wins are no longer a thing. But from the NBA perspective – they are probably happy for a non-US win because all the winning non-US teams include a few NBA players who can bring that international fan base back to the NBA – which also means more money for the NBA players…. Sometimes winning isn’t as profitable as losing.
