Bill Russell was a great basketball player and the most successful winner ever but he never averaged over 20 points per game and his fg%s are around 40%. Those are not GOAT level nunbers at all. People put too much weight on championships. Back then the Celtics only had to beat 7 other teams to win. In my opinion Russell wasn’t a good enough scorer to be on anyones top 10 regardless of how good a rebounder and shot blocker vs 60s competition he was.
@othErEWorldly97 Steph is over Magic (everything yβall tax Steph for you could also tax Magic) Magic has 1 more championship, 1 more MVP and 1 more finals MVP but he played in a way less competitive era with all the good teams of that era being in the other conference (Philadelphia, Boston, Bulls and Pistons – Bar the β86 Rockets but they were good for 1 year). Yβall tax Steph for winning two rings with KDβ¦ *MAGIC HAD A TOP 3 PLAYER OF ALL TIME WITH HIM* as well as a number 1 pick (James Worthy) when they were already champions.
Iβm not even hating on magic, my point is keep the same mf-ing energy
Love Oscar and generationally I don’t have a problem with him being ranked high. But it’s hard for me to put him over Shaq, Tim Duncan, and Olojuwan with 1 chip. Although Oscar did not have the benefit of free agency until later in his career (and it helped him get a chip)
I also had Magic at 2 but I moved Magic to 3. Magic didn’t have the same impact on both ends that Bill Russell did. Shaq is way too high, he actually kind of underachieved given what he could’ve been. Kareem at 4 is fine. Larry Bird is top 5. Lebron at 6. Then Shaq, Duncan, Hakeem are 7-9 in whatever order you want to put them in. And Wilt at 10. Kobe is not top 10. He’s 11-15
β@aldenjayden Lebron and Wilt are the only two consensus top 10 players who have losing records in the Finals. You 100% can have Lebron outside of the top 2 lol. I don’t even have Bron in my top 5. He’s at 6
@aldenjayden
When thereβs 5 players that have
5 MVPs AND 5 Championships & Lebron is not one of them, the best he can do is #6. And then when you factor details like having a 2/20 championship winning rate in standard 82 game seasons, you can make a case for 9th-12th like Skip made. #6 is generous for LeBronβs track record.
I rate best player by me being about to put you on any team no matter the roster and they’ll carry that team… with that being said, LeBron is top 2 for me. Ive only watched highlights of players before 1990 so hard for me to place Larry and all. Jordan I believe is the iconic player of all time, he made NBA modern and the sneaker game took off big time.
Iβm with Skip Bayless on this one. LeFlop is 9th at best. Heβs an 8 on a good day, but slides to 12th when he starts flopping or biting his nails in the fourth. Self-proclaimed ββgoatββ is too Afraid to take the big shots and just Passes the ball away when the pressure’s on. Good on ya Skip!
Reading these comments.. i concluded most of haven’t watch basketball for more than 10 yrs . Facts no longer play apart of the story only biased opinions and narrative pushes
To pick anybody besides for a game with your life on the line is crazy. He literally always show up in big games in the most historic ways aside from the melt down in Dallas. I never even understood that. Now I could argue the last shot thing but one game. This is the stupidest thing Iβve heard. And as far as people always saying people saved LeBron with shots. Bro! Kobe and Shaq are in the top 10 best players list and played with each other and needed the refs and Robert Horry to save them against Sacramento. I canβt take these people serious. Arguing whoβs the GOAT is subjective but the arguments that LeBron haters try to bring up against him always cause me to question their IQ. Skip Bayless is as stupid as they come with his takes against LeBron.
