I think it might have been D’antoni who invented the play for the Steve Nash Suns, and the Spurs perfected it, running Pistol for a consistent wide-open corner 3 at least since it was Bruce Bowen flaring in the corner.
Horns is another play that was in the general basketball lexicon but became a Popovich staple. You need one more big man for Horns, the Spurs really should be playing Kornet and Wemby together for rebounding against the Knicks, but it seems like they’re committed to playing small and fast.
