Been saying for years the Celtics marketed the wrong player. He had all this skill since H.S and him and his old team said it before, he was just asked to do a different role so all his skill wasn’t able to shine. Celtics held this man back to let Tatum shine I’m hoping he balls outta control this season and then ditch that wack axx franchise….

Nobody held him back, he was playing behind Crowder, IT, Marcus, Avery Bradley and them as a rookie in what was supposed to be a rebuild. Second year they got Hayward, Kyrie, Morris and JT, which slowed his development but it didn’t held him back

@Steven Rosario Really so his 3rd year when the offense was focused around kyrie and Tatum and stuffed Brown in the corner that wasn’t holding him back? What about the year kyrie left and the team let Tatum go out and make his mistakes to get better while keeping Brown on a short leash and continue to stuff him in the corner? Or how about in the second half of games when Tatum, Smart, and kemba(in the past) play keep away with Brown which has people saying he disappears in the 2nd half? The list goes on. They held him back Brown said it himself in an interview before the season started even the guy interviewing him asked does it feel like the leash is finally off his response “we’ll see”.3 years ago in his “All the Smoke” interview where he says the coach and the staff came to him after the 2018 playoff run and asked him to take a step back for Tatum( although he didn’t say his name you can clearly understand who he was referring to).

@E M you all over the place, Every team has it’s first, second and third options that don’t mean they holding back another guy. If Jaylen had developed faster, he would’ve been in the same position Tatum was as a rookie. You had Kyrie, Tatum, Morris and Rozier as options ahead of Jaylen, Once those guys left, you saw Jaylen coming to his own. You had Kyrie and Tatum trying to prove themselves while Rozier and Morris were playing for contracts, egos got in the way in 2018.

@S Alexander jb just wasnt as ready he was sooo fast he played out of control if you remember his 1st 2yrs, JT has a slower pace to his game anyway so it translated especially in the playoffs. By year 3 things started clicking but the hype is still warranted to JT hate when ppl say he overhyped and what the Celtics have to do is Support JB the same because they easily on the same level now like clear cut its neck and neck

Every since YouTube became all about watch time they killed off mixtapes inherently. Mixtapes we’re 2-4 mins long which means low watch time my default. Sucks. We miss mixtapes too but they take so much time to produce with not much return

JB has been overlooked and underrated as a pro.
It was in JT’s rookie year when Hayward & Kyrie went down, so while both JT & JB showed out in the run to the ECF, JT got the hype as he was the new thing, the new toy and the Celtics and the media in general have rolled with that ever since.
However JB is showing that he’s no Robin to JT’s Batman, rather it’s primed to be Batman vs Superman.
