Tatum isn’t even the best player on his own team I don’t get how this was a good night he was 8 for 22 and had like less than 15 going into the fourth quarter when they were up by 30 and still played the fourth quarter stop the fake narrative and you can see I’m right the media literally post a video that says Tatum dominates he most certainly did not

Y’all be acting like Tatum is carrying the Celtics. Celtics is stacked af. 18 points off the bench for Celtics vs. Mavs’ 0 in the 1st Quarter is all you need to know about this game.

I got Tatum over Luka, and here’s why. If you ignore all of the offensive stats, then it’s clearly Tatum. Luka has almost zero defensive stats.

@Jon Snow if you put Tatum on the Mavs and build the roster around him, you’d have another Boston type team.

Think of San Antonio back in the 2016s. They beat the Miami super team with a bunch of old guys + 1 star (Kawhi) by moving the ball around, making the defense work hard, and getting open looks. Tatum is a player who can get the ball moving even without having it in his hands.
Luka has zero chance of ever having the ball moving around without him. If he gets doubled and passes it out, he’s looking to get the ball back immediately. Tatum, can pass the ball and he’ll go set a screen for someone, rotate out, or cut. Tatum is a more MVP type player. Luka is a stat padding offense-only guy. If you understood basketball at a high level, then you’d understand that there’s not argument here

    • Jon Snow

      January 7, 2023 at 3:25 pm

@OP_10112 it seems that you are the one that doesn’t understand basketball at high level and just riding on your favorite player. Nobody on the Dallas roster can create their own shots aside from Wood, Spence, and sometimes THJ. Even KD and Kuz said that.

@OP_10112 “Oh just a build a good team” wow you are a genius arent you?

@Jon Snow I don’t even like Tatum and like Luka better. I’m a bulls fan and hate the crybaby Celtics. But, tatum plays better defense. He can play offense without the ball. Luka cannot not do either of those. Individual defense and off ball movement are independent of team players. So you’re the one not understanding. Tatum is a more valuable player. Luka only solves your scoring problems. Tatum solves your scoring, defense, and ball movement problem

@OP_10112 ball movement? Tatum? Are you high? 😂

No chance, as the supporting cast are the best in the NBA, in comparison to Luka’s weak cast. How Tatum do if on Mavs he would struggle, Great players around make his life so much easier than other players.

And Luka’s usage rate is highest in league history if I’m not mistaken. Give Tatum those and he’ll average more than his current total

If I was able to dribble like this growing up during the late 70s/ 80s I would’ve played in the NBA with Chuck, Shaq and Kenny.Carrying is the new dribbling.

It will be tough to pick starting position between Gainnis, KD, Embiid and JT for all star starting position. Obviously Gainnis and KD is locked will have to be between JT and Embiid.

The only reason Tatum won’t win MVP is because the NBA is obsessed with stat padding and he don’t do that as often as the rest of the league.

This year’s MVP will be one of the most contested and valuable one to be achieved for whoever wins it. Jokic, giannis, KD, Luka, Tatum, embiid and are definitely the top dogs and to even decide the top 3 will be a heck of a task. There’s still 40+ games to be played so lot of time left. I might be wrong. Maybe by the end of the season only a couple of players might be as good as they are now and are consistent. If not, it’s gonna be a tough choice and very competitive. Interesting to see.

Spyda Mitchell might sneak in and get a few votes too.

      January 8, 2023 at 9:33 am

@patrick y i think first place votes will be very evenly spread out it’s all gonna be the other number votings that’s gonna matter more probably. But as I said there’s still half a regular season left. God knows how tight it’s gonna be. It’s fun to watch honestly

Tatum is my favorite player. After all these years STILL baffled why he wasn’t the #1 pick by Philly in his draft ( Him,Embiid and Simmons playing together?😳).Any way we all know what Tatum can do in the regular season…..its the post season where we need to see this type of production…I KNOW YOU GOT IN YOU JT.Put another banner up in the rafters and you will be cemented as an all time Celtic great.Props to Grant Williams and JB for continuing to get better each year.

You don’t see how Embiid was taken over him? In a league where big men are as rare as they come and Embiid has been MVP-caliber for 3 straight years, including straight up better than Tatum his rookie year? Yeah, Tatum has been great but c’mon. There’s nothing obvious about taking him over Embiid. It’s a much riskier proposition and it’s *still* not obvious it’s the better choice. (That’s just because Embiid is so great, not because Tatum isn’t great too).

    • patrick y

      January 7, 2023 at 12:23 pm

@George Maasry Excuse you.Tatum and Embiid came out in different drafts. The unforgettable Markelle Fultz was chosen OVER Tatum.Just retract your whole text and do your homework next time.Honest mistake.

      January 7, 2023 at 12:30 pm

@patrick y Ah ok that was unclear. Actually made little sense in my brain as I wrote it. Lol

    • patrick y

      January 7, 2023 at 12:39 pm

@George Maasry Totally understand.I even edited my text to say ” playing together” because Embiid, Tatum and Simmons all came out in different drafts. If Tatum was drafted by Sixers their whole journey would’ve been different.Even a possible chip by now.And Simmons wouldn’t even need to worry about scoring.
