I’ve been wondering the same, I think it’s because the NBA wants young cheaper players or players that they can market and make a huge profit. Nba doesn’t seem to want players that are good for the sake of competition… They want what they think will make the most money.

In 2020, no one picked him up, so eventually he announced retirement in 2022. At 40 he was ageless and could have picked up another 6th man. He is 43 now, but he stopped playing at 40, because no one signed him.
