Dame needs to keep his own self interest for his own legacy. He’s trying to stay loyal, but he has no chance with the current roster and he knows that in his heart it sucks for him. Either way he will be the bad guy he needs to be in control of his own destiny

I can easily see Kawhi taking the full year off and the clippers management and medical staff saying he is ready and, thus, creates tons of issues that leads to him leaving next offseason.

Not likely if the resign him they’ll let him sit just line they let him pick when he wanted to play the first season, it was only Ty Lue that had him playing more so if he resigned I can see them treating it like KD and just sit him until next season or at minimum the playoffs only.

Dame asks for Portland to make significant changes and what did they do? They signed Ben McLemore, Tony Snell, and Cody Zeller…This team lost in 6 games to Denver without Murray or Barton and those were their upgrades. Oh, and they brought in a head coach with no previous head coaching experience.
