NAH. we already see it when rookies get injured. for the past 5 years 3 roty winners were picked after injuries. mccain lost zion lost, embiid lost his. there is a standard for games played for roty.

Hot take – cooper flagg wouldnt even be considered if they had Kyrie and A.D. healthy performing at a high level. Id say that the fact that he doesnt have any help is what helped him the most. The ball goes through him currently which would not be the case if they had the roster they should have had.

It’s just weird because Luka was doing the same thing but winning more. Check how close their stats areπ.
Stats beyond close:
β’Flag 20pts , 6,6 Reb 4.5 asts,1.1stls, 0.9 blks ,114.7 def rating , team def rating 114.4, offensive team rating 30th, individual 106.6 offensive rating, 66 games so far(4 games left so he can at most play 70, 2 less than Luka). So about the same games. Flag also has about 34 less stls total then Luka had but has 37 more blocks
β’Luka 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists,1.1 stls, 0.3 blks, offensive team rating 20th, individual offensive rating 106.6 per game in 72 games. He became only the second rookie in NBA history to average at least 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists,
So if he doesn’t become a scoring monster like Luka did or atleast a slightly good scorer 23-26 pts a game and a good defenders it’ll be a bust for Dallas. Not for him. But for them.
Example: He either must match Lukas scoring or close. Or like I said a good scoring out put with like some atleast Avery Bradley def. If he end up avg less then 20 tho over the next few years he gonna have to have elite , prime PG or prime Kwai or tony allen def. If not either of those paths I think the fans will not let it go and the ownership will be feeling it for years even more then now. Good start.
