Nobody knows better than him the importance of developing young talent. He won an additional ring no one expected him to win primarily because he trusted in his young core while their big 3 was on a rising decline.

Steph knows, that’s it for the Warriors… their time has ended, his prime time has ended. It’s simple, He doesn’t want the franchise to go crazy and pull something like the Clippers last year because it won’t work out in a long term… and it would just put the franchise in a huge pothole. I think it’s very wise. He got his 4 rings and he knows that it for him.

the answer obviously lies in 3 things: they were on that hot start coz steph had folks like buddy hield and others off to a smoking start shooting wise, 2nd is availability and navigating injuries, 3rd and most importantly is their defense dipping to below average
