Im tired of people saying that he “impacts the game in other ways” besides his lack of scoring, shooting and free throws. We’ve known that for a very long time that he is a good passer, defender, rebounder. Now with Embiid injured he could have stepped up but doesn’t have the missing skills to do so. Every other player in his draft considered inferior to him has made great improvements, Jaylen Brown, Ingram Sabonis etc. Jaylen Brown wasn’t highly regarded out of Berkley but worked hard on his shooting, Ingram was considered a disappointment but broke out on the pelicans. Sabonis was an afterthought in the PG13 trade but has become a double double machine. People need to stop deflecting legitimate criticisms of his game and cherrypicking what he’s good at. The holes in his game have cost his team against the Celtics in 2018, raptors 2019 and will make the Hawks matchup harder.

Simmons could attack the basket more, leading to 20ppg, but that being said they have Curry & Harris that can score in bunches
They might be more Title-ready if Ben Simmons could score more, but this season it’s probable that Brooklyn wins the East & Title
In the offseason Simmons will need to work on being more assertive from a scoring standpoint
He does everything else at an elite level

Honestly, Ben Simmons is the most overrated player in basketball. Someone plz teach this man a post move and how to shoot a jumper. He’s just so one dimensional and boring to watch. He doesnt excel at any particular aspect of the game and is totally bound to his athleticism.

Everybody loves to make fun of Simmons for the ONE thing he can’t do and forget about what he can do, which is literally everything else other than shooting. Simmons is an amazing passer with great ball handling skills, an excellent defender, great energy and is a monster in open court and is nigh unstoppable under the basket. All that, and haters love to focus on the one thing the man can’t do.

Remember when everyone said trade Harris? 24/10 in the post season and has been an absolute dog in the post when they go small against him. He looks like Melo out there.
Simmons looks like a bigger, less aggressive rondo.

The funny thing is people don’t realize he actually is part of the reason the sixers are winning because he runs the defense and embiid runs the offense think about when Simmons got hurt last year sixers went down 0-4 and embiid was playing the same last year as he is this year
