Dear Ballislife,
Please let me teach you when to use the 1/2 pt scoring system.
When we score in 2’s and 3’s, the 3 point shot is worth 1.5 times the 2 pt shot.
When we score in 1’s and 2’s, the 2 point shot is worth 2 times the 1 pt shot.
Employing 1’s and 2’s encourages players to shoot more from the beyond the arc and take less shots inside.
This only makes sense when playing on an outdoor court where the court isn’t flat, or it’s windy, or there’s no net etc.
In this circumstance it’s harder to make an outside shot and so scoring in 1’s and 2’s makes sense.
You don’t play on an indoor court using the 1’s and 2’s scoring unless you are trying to encourage players to shoot more from outside.
Therefore, assuming that you want an entertaining video for fans with more dunks and inside play, you should eliminate this 1’s and 2’s scoring from any indoor court.
Honestly, 3’s and 4’s makes more sense as a counter to the NBA game where the 3pt shot has taken over the game.
