Brian Windhorst: John Lucas is new frontrunner for Rockets coaching vacancy | The Jump

Kendrick Perkins and Brian Windhorst join Jorge Sedano on The Jump to discuss if they buy that Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal wants to stay in DC and if the Houston Rockets are still contenders in the Western Conference. Windhorst also gives an update on the Rockets’ coaching search, explaining that assistant coach John Lucas is now the frontrunner for the job, not Jeff Van Gundy.

I love listening to Perk’s analysis … but I REALLY love watching Perk when he’s not speaking. He’s perpetually uncomfortable! hahaha

I’m sorry, but the Washington Wizards are in no shape or form even close to having a championship contending team. Here’s an NBA Finals you’ll never see, Washington Wizards vs. Portland Trailblazers. Count on it!!

Everything Perkins said is straight facts and Windy spoke facts also. If the wizards suck again then Beal will not sign again with the wizards again when his contract is up

Brain could never be a GM. If you’re rebuilding, you make sure you trade your current assets for players and draft picks.

lmao, John Lucas has coached before and it didn’t go well. He’s respected by the players but that’s about it. I’ll be hammering the under on the season total win if they hire him.
